Located in the prairie region of Western Canada, Saskatchewan is one of the agricultural hubs of Canada. The province houses two major cities-Regina and Saskatoon and is rich in agricultural farmlands.
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is the provincial nominee program (PNP) of Saskatchewan. The SINP is a collection of immigration pathways for foreign nationals to become Permanent Residents of Canada. The SINP is designed in a way to bring in immigrants whose occupations are most in-demand in the province. These include skilled workers, entrepreneurs, skilled workers with job offers from the province, and skilled workers in shortage occupations.
Saskatchewan operated a number of immigration streams under three broad categories:
- Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker
- Saskatchewan Experience
- Saskatchewan Entrepreneur and Farm
Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker
The International Skilled Worker category has three sub-categories that target international workers. The workers are prioritized on their ability to join the workforce of the province and integrate into life in the province. Some of these streams target skilled workers in shortage occupations while the others target those with job offers from the province.
